Our curriculum provides children opportunities to learn about God and the love of Jesus, to develop a love for learning, and to be prepared with the skills needed to enter elementary school. Our goal is for each child to genuinely enjoy the learning process, which is why MSEE takes a play-based approach to education. Our curriculum in the 2’s and 3’s classes is teacher-generated with age-appropriate activities and learning experiences that foster the growth and development of the whole child. The PreK and K curriculum is based on Florida state standards and incorporates Handwriting Without Tears, HMH math, Heggerty phonics, and teacher-generated materials. We teach academic, social, physical motor, communication, and self-help skills to help every child develop independence and confidence in school.
MSEE’s school day is from 9 AM to 11:45 AM for Two’s through PreK. Kindergarten’s school days are from 9 AM to 2 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 9 AM to 12 PM on Wednesdays. The following extended-day options are available for an additional fee:
- Early morning drop-off beginning at 8 AM.
- Lunch Bunch from 12 PM – 2 PM is offered for all children except Young Twos.
- Two Afternoon Enrichment classes per day are offered during Lunch Bunch for all children in a Three’s class and older. Kindergarteners may attend on Wednesdays.
Children are placed in classes based on their age as of September 1.
- Our Young Twos (turning 2 by December 31st) learn that someone other than mommy and daddy loves them very much. They are also learning social and emotional skills to help them in future years in school. Our Young Twos have Music and Outdoor Classroom specials each week.
- Two days per week
- Our Two-Year-Olds (turning 2 by September 1st) learn the importance of sharing and caring for friends through seasonal units and activities. Our 2-day classes have Spanish, Music, and Outdoor Classroom specials each week. Our 3- and 5-day classes have the same specials, along with Chapel on Wednesdays.
- Two, three, or five days per week
- Our Three-Year-Olds (turning 3 by September 1st) work individually, in small groups, and in large groups to develop communication skills and basic readiness skills. Our 3-day classes attend the following specials each week: Chapel, Music, Spanish, and Outdoor Classroom. Our 4- and 5-day classes attend the same specials, with the addition of Yoga.
- Three, four, or five days per week
- PreK classes (turning 4 by September 1st) participate in school readiness activities such as pre-reading, letter formation and recognition, letter names and sounds, introductory math concepts, science and nature as part of God’s creation, and learning about the community and world in which they live. All classes participate in Yoga, Spanish, Music, Chapel, and Outdoor Classroom.
- Four or five days per week
- Our Kindergarten program (children turning 5 by September 1st) prepares our students for future success. Many of our students move on to neighborhood public schools or top-notch private schools. We utilize Sunshine State Standards from Orange County and are aware of Common Core but are not limited to either. We use Handwriting Without Tears, Saxon for math, Heggerty for phonics, and teacher-generated materials for science and social studies. Kindergarten participates in Yoga, Spanish, Music, Chapel, Outdoor Classroom, and Tae Kwon Do every week.
- Monday through Friday with early dismissal at Noon on Wednesdays.
